Ole Gunnar Solskjaer officially unveiled as new head coach of Turkish Super League side Besiktas, signing contract until June 2026, ending more than 3 years of stalemate.

Solskjaer arrived at Atatürk International Airport on Friday. And was greeted by the club’s two vice-chairmen Hakan Daltabán and Khan Kasacci and board member Merve Öztopaloğlu.

“I am very happy to be here,” the 51-year-old told the club’s official website.

“It’s great to have so many great people here at such a special club.”

“This is the first time I’ve met you, and I’m looking forward to my work. It’s great to be in this wonderful city.”

Solskjaer has been out of management since being sacked by Manchester United in November 2021, returning to Istanbul to replace Giovanni van Bronckhorst, who was โปรโมชั่นพิเศษจาก UFABET สมัครตอนนี้ รับโบนัสทันที sacked the previous month.

Before his appointment by United, Solskjaer had two stints in charge of Molde and one at Cardiff City.

As a player, he scored 126 goals in 11 seasons for United from 1996 to 2007. Including the winner in the 1999 Champions League final.

Besiktas are 28th in the Europa League table – a point outside the play-off spots with two games remaining in the group stage of a competition that also features United.

Solskjaer faces an away trip to Mourinho’s Fenerbahce on 4 May in the Super Lig.

The whole game on Saturday in the Super League against Samsungspor (18 Jan) is probably too early to take charge of the team. The most you can do is watch the game in the stadium while Serdar Topraktepe is acting as caretaker manager.

His first match as manager will probably be next Thursday ( 23 January ) in the Europa League against Athletic Bilbao .
