Frimpong ‘in advanced talks’ with Liverpool

Liverpool have opened talks with Bayer Leverkusen over a move for Dutch right-back Jeremie Frimpong as a replacement for Trent Alexander-Arnold.

The German media outlet reports that the 24-year-old is one of the best options to replace Alexander-Arnold, who is set to leave the club. With the Reds launching a serious chase for Frimpong.

Frimpong helped Leverkusen win the Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal double last season and previously won the treble with Celtic in 2019-20.

Since joining Leverkusen in January 2021, the former Man City youth international has scored 30 goals. And provided 44 assists in 190 appearances for the Bundesliga club in all competitions.
