Man City striker Erling Haaland has admitted his side lacked the hunger they needed to improve this season, despite injuries being the excuse for a disappointing campaign.

The forward was keen to stress that he felt his own performances were not up to the standards set.
“You can make excuses for all of this, injuries, a lot of injuries, bad times, but at the end of the day, we didn’t perform well enough. We didn’t have the hunger. I wasn’t good enough. I didn’t help the team enough,” Haaland said.
Haaland added that Man City need to find the necessary determination to perform better next season.
“The club has set the bar and the bar is very high, which means this season has been a bad one. That says it all. Next season we have to find something in our stomach again to attack the season.”
